House Resolution 71

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. MARTY MILSTEAD FOR BEING HONORED AS THE NATIONAL SECRETARY OF THE EXECUTIVE OFFICERS COUNCIL OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HOME BUILDERS.

WHEREAS, Mr. Marty Milstead has been honored as the 2005 National Secretary Treasurer of the Executive Officers Council (EOC) of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB); and

WHEREAS, Mr. Milstead has served as a member of the EOC Board of Directors for four years; and

WHEREAS, he has also assisted the NAHB in other ways that include serving as the Liability Insurance Task Force Member and as Campaign Manager for Bobby Rayburn in the 2000-2001 election to become the Vice President Secretary of NAHB; and

WHEREAS, acting on behalf of the NAHB, Mr. Milstead was a Liaison to the NAHB State and Local Government Affairs Conference and Liaison to the NAHB Build PAC Board of Trustees; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Milstead works diligently in other organizations, such as the Association Issues Committee, Bill Carr Scholarship Trustee, Chairman and Cochairman of the EOC Golf Tournament, Communications Committee, Computer Task Force Committee, Long Range Planning Committee, New EO Orientation Committee, Nominating Committee, Policy Development Committee, Seminar Committee, past Chairman State Association Committee; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Milstead is supported in his many endeavors by his wife, Janet, and their two beautiful children, Alex and Chandler; and

WHEREAS, quality time is spent with his children as the tee ball and soccer coach; and

WHEREAS, his spiritual needs are fulfilled at Broadmoor Baptist Church where he serves as an ordained deacon of the church; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize outstanding men such as Mr. Milstead:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Mr. Marty Milstead for being honored as the National Secretary of the Executive Officers Council of the National Association of Home Builders.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Marty Milstead and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
