A RESOLUTION COMMENDING LOGAN GOLEBIEWSKI OF SALTILLO HIGH SCHOOL AND HIS TEAM FOR THEIR DEDICATED AND UNSELFISH EFFORTS TO BEAUTIFY THEIR COMMUNITY OF SALTILLO ON NATIONAL AND GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY.
WHEREAS, on April 21-23, 2006, millions of young people will participate in National and Global Youth Service Day, the largest service event in the world; and
WHEREAS, National and Global Youth Service Day mobilizes youth to identify and address the needs of their communities through service, supports youth on a lifelong path of service and civic engagement, and educates the public, the media and elected officials about the role of youth as community leaders; and
WHEREAS, Saltillo High School and the City of Saltillo will be celebrating National and Global Youth Service Day on April 22, 2006, on Main Street in the city; and
WHEREAS, Logan Golebiewski, a student at Saltillo High School, won a grant of $1,000.00 from the State Farm Companies Foundation, the presenting sponsor of National and Global Youth Service Day; and
WHEREAS, Logan is the only person in Mississippi to win such a grant, and he will use the money from the grant to lead his team in the hard work of beautifying Saltillo's Main Street throughout the day of April 22 in order to make the city a more inviting place for visitors and residents alike; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we acknowledge the
accomplishments of such outstanding youth as Logan and his team, whose actions of giving back to their community of Saltillo on National and Global Youth Service Day evidence the greatness that lies in store for the future of this state through its youth:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Logan Golebiewski of Saltillo High School and his team for their dedicated and unselfish efforts to beautify their community of Saltillo on National and Global Youth Service Day, and extend our best wishes for success in all their future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Logan Golebiewski, Saltillo High School and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
