House Resolution 48

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. CHRIS WILKINSON FOR WINNING TWO FARMER CONTESTS DURING 2005.

WHEREAS, Mr. Chris Wilkinson was the 2005 Mississippi Young Farmer and Rancher Discussion Contest Winner and the 2005 District IV Mississippi Young Farmer and Rancher Contest Winner; and

WHEREAS, he is very active in various Yalobusha County extension committees; and

WHEREAS, he is well-known throughout the community for timber production with over 1,000 acres of pine trees and hardwood trees; and

WHEREAS, to remain consistently abreast of issues within the business community, he is also involved with the Water Valley Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, not only is he active in the business community, he nurtures his spirit as an active member of the Water Valley First Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, he is supported in his efforts by his wife, Anissa, and their three children: Bailey Claire, Jake and Mary Grace; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize the contributions of our citizens to improve our agriculture:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend and congratulate Mr. Chris Wilkinson for winning two farmer contests during 2005.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Chris Wilkinson and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
