A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUSPENDING THE DEADLINES FOR THE PURPOSE OF REQUESTING THE DRAFTING, AND THE INTRODUCTION, CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE, OF A BILL ENTITLED "AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 1 THROUGH 12 OF CHAPTER 1012, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2004, TO REVISE THE DEFINITION OF THE TERM "HOTEL" OR "MOTEL" UNDER THE LAW THAT AUTHORIZES THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HARRISON COUNTY TO IMPOSE A SPECIAL TAX ON THE GROSS PROCEEDS OF ROOM RENTALS OF HOTELS OR MOTELS; TO REQUIRE PERSONS, FIRMS OR CORPORATIONS ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF OPERATING A HOTEL OR MOTEL TO APPLY FOR AND OBTAIN A TAX IDENTIFICATION NUMBER FROM THE STATE TAX COMMISSION; TO AMEND CHAPTER 58, LAWS OF EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF 1954, AS LAST AMENDED BY CHAPTER 1012, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2004, IN CONFORMITY THERETO; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That the Joint Rules of the House and the Senate, including all the deadlines and other provisions imposed by Joint Rule No. 40, are suspended for the purpose of requesting the drafting, and the introduction, consideration and passage, of a bill entitled "AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 1 THROUGH 12 OF CHAPTER 1012, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2004, TO REVISE THE DEFINITION OF THE TERM "HOTEL" OR "MOTEL" UNDER THE LAW THAT AUTHORIZES THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HARRISON COUNTY TO IMPOSE A SPECIAL TAX ON THE GROSS PROCEEDS OF ROOM RENTALS OF HOTELS OR MOTELS; TO REQUIRE PERSONS, FIRMS OR CORPORATIONS ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF OPERATING A HOTEL OR MOTEL TO APPLY FOR AND OBTAIN A TAX IDENTIFICATION NUMBER FROM THE STATE TAX COMMISSION; TO AMEND CHAPTER 58, LAWS OF EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF 1954, AS LAST AMENDED BY CHAPTER 1012, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2004, IN CONFORMITY THERETO; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
