House Concurrent Resolution 106

     A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE MCADAMS HIGH SCHOOL BULLDOGS BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2005-2006 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

     WHEREAS, the McAdams High School Bulldogs Boys Basketball Team finished the 2005-2006 season with an outstanding record of 31 wins and 6 losses; and

     WHEREAS, the Bulldogs did very well in the state playoffs this year, winning the Class 1A State Championship by defeating Ingomar 61-50 for McAdams' first state title since 1984; and

     WHEREAS, Coach Chad Jackson succeeded his father, Wilson Jackson, in 2003, as head coach at McAdams and has returned McAdams to the status of state champions as his father did twice in his 33 years at McAdams; and

     WHEREAS, the Bulldogs have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Chad Jackson who has broadened the Bulldogs' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

     WHEREAS, the Bulldogs have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coach and bring honor to McAdams High School; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the McAdams High School Bulldogs Boys Basketball Team and their Head Coach Chad Jackson for their outstanding 2005-2006 season, for winning the Class 1A State Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to McAdams High School, Head Coach Chad Jackson and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
