AN ACT TO EXPRESS LEGISLATIVE INTENT TO RECOGNIZE THE MEDICAL DISCIPLINE OF PAIN MANAGEMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to recognize the medical discipline of "pain management" as an area of medical expertise and specialty. It is further the legislative intent for the State Board of Medical Licensure to encourage professional organizations and educational institutions to educate doctors and other medical professionals on "pain management."
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2006.
