A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF ANNA REBECCA "MEGGA" BALL AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HER PASSING.

     WHEREAS, Anna Rebecca "Megga" Ball, born July 4, 1962, to Richard and Jo Ann Ball, perished in the fury and destruction of Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, to enter into eternal rest with her heavenly father, causing great sorrow and loss to her family and friends; and

     WHEREAS, a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church,  Columbia, Mississippi, Ms. Ball, who loved to travel and worked in various places throughout the country, possessed an engaging and vivacious personality, touching everyone she encountered; and

     WHEREAS, an undaunted spirit, who never encountered an obstacle too hard to overcome, Ms. Ball enjoyed life and reminded everyone she met that life was a gift from God to be celebrated and cherished; and

     WHEREAS, deeply devoted to her family and the State of Mississippi, and though she has now traversed the rivers of life to stand on golden heavenly shores, the legacy of her memory will thrive in the hearts of her survivors, including:  parents, Richard and Jo Ann Ball; sister, Beth Ball Pierce; nephew, William; niece, Grace; and a host of other relatives and friends; and

     WHEREAS, Mississippi has lost a thriving Magnolia that will now bloom into its full splendid array in heaven before God; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend such a vibrant life as that of Ms. Ball, whose earthly flame was extinguished in order that it might beam ever more so luminously in life's eternal ever after:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and celebrate the life of Anna Rebecca "Megga" Ball and express deepest sympathy to her family and friends upon her passing.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Ms. Ball and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
