House Resolution 12

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF ELAINE CATHERINE "LANIE" KEALHOFER AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HER PASSING.

     WHEREAS, Elaine Catherine "Lanie" Kealhofer departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 22, 2005, to enter into eternal rest with her heavenly father, causing great sorrow and loss to her family and friends; and

     WHEREAS, a 16-year-old rising junior at Madison Central High School, Lanie was an outstanding student in the academic and extra-curricular arenas; and

     WHEREAS, described as caring and charismatic, Lanie, who aspired to sing and act, recently received an award for the highest average in sophomore English; and

     WHEREAS, a rosebud in the process of blossoming into a brilliant bloom, Lanie was removed from the garden of life to be placed in a bouquet of heavenly splendor, her presence illuminated a room and lifted countenances of those who knew her; and

     WHEREAS, though she has now traversed the rivers of life to now stand on golden heavenly shores, Lanie leaves to cherish the legacy of her memory, which will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, including:  parents, Charlie and Perry Kealhofer; sister, Lexie; twin brothers, Scott and Jake; and a host of other relatives, teachers and friends; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life of such an inspirational individual as Lanie Kealhofer, whose life was lived to the edification of God's kingdom:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life of Elaine Catherine "Lanie" Kealhofer and express deepest sympathy to her family and friends upon her passing.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Charlie and Perry Kealhofer, Madison Central High School and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
