A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIVES AND VALOR OF THE YALOBUSHA COUNTY VETERANS, DECEASED SINCE JANUARY 2004, AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON THEIR PASSING.

     WHEREAS, since the dawn of the year of 2004, the County of Yalobusha and the State of Mississippi have laid to rest many of its valiant native sons, veterans who stood with a heart of courage in the line of fire and braved the trenches during wars in which the United States Military forces were engaged:  World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm; and

     WHEREAS, for their unrivaled spirit, these men committed themselves to fighting to insure the existence of a democratic international society free of communistic reign and tyrannical domination; and

     WHEREAS, those who fought valiantly for this great nation of the United States of America, but have now been called from this earthly world's labor to heavenly rest are:  W.T. "Dub" Wortham, James Russell Sutherland, Carl W. Hardin, Robert Jessie Norwood, Buford Lederle Adams, Johnny M. Lowe, Charles Edward Gardiner, Henry Leo Harmon, Ford Clayton Dunn, Dr. Dalton Earl Spears, William Kenneth Taylor, Emmett Winter Holt, Malcolm Eugene Burke, Alfred S. Reed, Jr., Kenneth J. Fernandez, Disteau "Pete" Brasell, Harley O. Vanlandingham, James Robert "Boot" Hill, Loyd Benson House, William E. Nelson, James Wilburn Bell, John D. Dickey, Earl Hollowell, William E. Pryor, Samuel E. Burns, James B Cowsert and Joe I. Elliott, Sr.; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to pay final respect to these veteran soldiers, leaders, husbands, fathers, brothers, sons and friends who so graciously and courageously weathered the storms of war and the trials of battle:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the lives and valor of the aforementioned soldiers who are among the known and unknown veteran soldiers of Yalobusha County, Mississippi, deceased since January 2004, and express our deepest sympathy to their family and friends upon their passing.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Yalobusha County Board of Supervisors, the Department of Veteran Affairs and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
