A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE NATCHEZ HIGH SCHOOL LADY BULLDOGS TRACK TEAM AND COACH LARRY WESLEY ON WINNING THEIR FIFTH CONSECUTIVE CLASS 5A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Natchez High School Lady Bulldogs Track Team won the 2005 Class 5A Ladies State Track Championship; and
WHEREAS, this championship marks the fifth consecutive state championship for the Natchez High School Ladies Track Team; and
WHEREAS, at the State Track Meet in Pearl, Mississippi, the Natchez Lady Bulldogs tied Vicksburg with only the mile relay left to go, before winning the final event for the State Championship; and
WHEREAS, in their march to the State Championship, the Lady Bulldogs rolled over other track teams in the Brookhaven Relay Invitational, the McComb Relay Invitational and the West Feliciana Relay Invitational in St. Francesville, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the hallmark of this championship team is its teamwork, which was instrumental in clinching the State Championship; and
WHEREAS, the 2005 roster for the Lady Bulldogs is as follows: Taji Dorsey, Porshe Singleton, Candice Frye, LaColony Oliver, Whitney Thomas, Charmaine King, Ke'Airra Jones, Wennifer Noble and Alea Franks; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the accomplishments of this group of student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Natchez High School Lady Bulldogs Track Team and Coach Larry Wesley for their outstanding 2005 track season and for winning the Class 5A State Track Championship, and extend best wishes for success in all their future academic and athletic endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Coach Larry Wesley, Natchez High School and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
