COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

House Bill No.  622

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     SECTION 1.  (1)  U.S. Highway 80 within the State of Mississippi is designated and shall be known as the "Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway" in honor and memory of and in gratitude, recognition and appreciation for sacrifices and contributions made by the veterans of the Korean War.

     (2)  The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching U.S. Highway 80.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     AN ACT TO DESIGNATE U.S. HIGHWAY 80 WITHIN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI AS THE "KOREAN WAR VETERANS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY" IN HONOR AND MEMORY OF AND IN GRATITUDE, RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION FOR THE VETERANS OF THE KOREAN WAR; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
