House Resolution 97

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING COURTNEY DOSSETT UPON BEING NAMED 2005 MISS DIXIE NATIONAL RODEO.

WHEREAS, Courtney Dossett of Collins, Mississippi, was crowned the 2005 Miss Dixie National Rodeo on Saturday, February 12, 2005, at the annual Miss Dixie National Pageant; and

WHEREAS, the daughter of Carla Dossett, Courtney, who is currently a junior at Collins High School, will serve as the representative and spokesperson for the Dixie National; and

WHEREAS, when not working at the various livestock shows and signing autographs, Miss Dossett has visited the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children delivering stick ponies to the patients in addition to having visited with Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Lester Spell and Mississippi State Fair Grounds Executive Director Mike Brinkley; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, as evidenced by the beautiful and talented young lady, Miss Courtney Dossett:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Miss Courtney Dossett upon being crowned 2005 Miss Dixie National Rodeo and extend to her our heartiest wishes for success in all her future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Miss Courtney Dossett and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
