A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE FALKNER HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADING SQUAD ON WINNING THE 2004 CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Falkner High School Cheerleading Squad finished the 2004 season of cheerleading competition with an outstanding record of accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, the Falkner High School Cheerleaders did very well in competition this year, winning the 2004 Class 1A Cheerleading Championship; and
WHEREAS, the 2004 Falkner High School Cheerleaders include Leanna Horton, Kelsey Moore, Stefani Blades, Sarah Lockhart, Nichole Marks, Savannah McAlister, Catherine Pickens, Morgan Robertson, Meredith Braddock, Kayla Gunn, Katy Rutherford and Kristy Rutherford; and
WHEREAS, the Falkner High School Cheerleaders have been superbly coached and inspired by Coaches Pam Moore and Karen Walden, who have broadened the cheerleaders' knowledge of cheerleading competition and refined their skills in execution; and
WHEREAS, the Falkner High School Cheerleaders spend numerous hours per week practicing their elite stunts, dance routines and cheers in addition to cheering at sporting events; and
WHEREAS, the Falkner High School Cheerleaders have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitudes reflect great credit upon the individual cheerleaders and their coaches and bring great honor to Falkner High School; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of our state, who are its future:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Falkner High School Cheerleaders and their coaches for being selected the 2004 Class 1A State Cheerleading Champions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Falkner High School, Coaches Pam Moore and Karen Walden and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
