A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MRS. EDRIE JONES STOKES DOVE ON THE OCCASION OF HER 100TH BIRTHDAY.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Edrie Jones Stokes Dove, born March 24, 1905, in Amite County, Mississippi, will soon celebrate the occasion of her 100th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Dove, who lives in Pensacola, Florida, will be honored with a celebration in recognition of her 100th birthday, and celebrated the birthday of her childhood friend, Ellen Brown Brister, who turned 100 on March 6, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Dove, a pillar in Amite County and the Pensacola community, as well as the backbone of her family, attributes her longevity to her faith in God, and enjoys the love, adoration and support of her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend such outstanding individuals as Mrs. Dove, whose life has served as a beacon of hope, joy, inspiration and warmth to all who have enjoyed the privilege of meeting her:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mrs. Edrie Jones Stokes Dove on the occasion of her 100th birthday.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Dove and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
