AN ACT TO PROHIBIT A RECREATIONAL FISHERMAN FROM POSSESSING A CERTAIN NUMBER OF SPOTTED SEA TROUT; TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF SUCH PROHIBITION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) It shall be unlawful for a recreational fisherman to possess more than three (3) spotted sea trout (Cynoscion nebulosus) between twelve (12) and fourteen (14) inches.
(2) A person convicted of a violation of this section shall be punished as provided in Section 49-15-63.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2005.
