AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI HAS ADOPTED THE FEDERAL REGULATIONS CONCERNING THE MAXIMUM DRIVING AND ON-DUTY REQUIREMENTS OF TRANSPORTERS WITH AN EXCEPTION FOR INTRASTATE TRANSPORTERS OF AGRICULTURAL COMMODITIES OR FARM SUPPLIES FOR AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES WITHIN A CERTAIN RADIUS FROM THE SOURCE OF THE COMMODITIES OR DISTRIBUTION POINT FOR THE FARM SUPPLIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The State of Mississippi has adopted 49 CFR Part 395 as of January 1, 2005, with the following exception: The maximum driving and on-duty requirements shall not apply to intrastate transporters of agricultural commodities or farm supplies for agricultural purposes if the transportation is limited to an area within a one hundred-air-mile radius from the source of the commodities or distribution point for the farm supplies.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2005.
