A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE ENTERPRISE HIGH SCHOOL "BULLDOGS" BOYS BASEBALL TEAM AND COACH JEREMY WILKINS FOR WINNING THE CLASS 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2004 SEASON.

     WHEREAS, the Enterprise High School "Bulldogs" Boys Baseball Team has completed the 2004 season by winning the Class 2A State Championship; and

     WHEREAS, on their way to the State Championship game, the "Bulldogs" compiled an outstanding 27-8 record, won the Division 7 Class 2A Championship and the South State Regional Championship; and

     WHEREAS, the following team members were recognized for their outstanding play during the season and post-season:  Wade Weathers, All-State Pitcher with a final record of 16 and 2; and Zeb Swain who was named to the All-State Second Team; and

     WHEREAS, the "Bulldogs" are ably led by Coach Jeremy Wilkins and Assistant Coach Mark Davis, who instilled the team with the importance of fundamentals; and

     WHEREAS, the 2004 "Bulldogs" won the first State Championship in the history of Enterprise High School; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the unique accomplishments of this group of student athletes, who bring honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Enterprise High School "Bulldogs" Boys Baseball Team and Coach Jeremy Wilkins for winning the Class 2A State Championship, the first championship in the school's history, and for their outstanding 2004 season and extend to them the best wishes of the Senate for continued success in their future athletic and academic endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Wilkins on behalf of the team, be forwarded to the Principal of Enterprise High School and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
