Senate Amendments to House Concurrent Resolution No. 127
TO THE CLERK OF THE HOUSE:
THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE SENATE HAS ADOPTED THE AMENDMENTS SET OUT BELOW:
AMENDMENT NO. 1
Amend by striking all after the resolving clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
That the 2004 Regular Session of the Legislature is extended for a period of thirty (30) days from the final day of the one hundred twenty-five (125) calendar days of the 2004 Regular Session of the Legislature, under the provisions of Section 36, Mississippi Constitution of 1890.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Joint Rules of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Mississippi State Legislature, including all the deadlines and other provisions imposed by Joint Rule No. 40, are suspended for the purpose of permitting the further consideration and passage of:
(1) All appropriation bills for general and special fund agencies that died at the deadline for final adoption of appropriation and revenue bills on Monday, May 3, 2004; and
(2) The following revenue and general bills that died at the deadline for final adoption of appropriation and revenue bills, and the deadline for conference reports on general bills to be filed, on Monday, May 3, 2004: House Bill Nos. 1279, 1434, 1464, 1569, 1617, 1791, 1792 and 1798, and Senate Bill Nos. 2436, 2617, 2661, 2678, 2763, 2809, 2841, 3038, 3088 and 3178.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the 2004 Regular Session of the Legislature will stand adjourned Sine Die at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2004.
Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE 2004 REGULAR SESSION OF THE LEGISLATURE, SUSPENDING THE DEADLINES FOR THE PURPOSE OF PERMITTING THE FURTHER CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE OF CERTAIN APPROPRIATION BILLS, REVENUE BILLS AND GENERAL BILLS THAT DIED AT THE DEADLINE ON MONDAY, MAY 3, 2004, AND FIXING THE DATE OF SINE DIE ADJOURNMENT OF THE 2004 REGULAR SESSION OF THE LEGISLATURE.
