House Amendments to Senate Bill No. 3082

 

TO THE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE:

 

  THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE HOUSE HAS ADOPTED THE AMENDMENTS SET OUT BELOW:

 

 

AMENDMENT NO. 1

 

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, Mississippi, is hereby authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to allow payments by consumers to the Whispering Pines Golf Course or the Ocean Springs Harbor for services, merchandise or other purposes, to be made by credit card, charge card, debit card or other form of electronic payment.  Jackson County is authorized to charge paying consumers the cost of any commissions, user fees or any other fees associated with the transactions authorized by this section, including, but not limited to, fees charged by credit card companies, banks or any other financial institution in connection with the acceptance of electronic payments.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ALLOW PAYMENTS TO THE WHISPERING PINES GOLF COURSE AND OCEAN SPRINGS HARBOR IN CONNECTION WITH THE PAYMENT BY A CONSUMER FOR SERVICES, MERCHANDISE OR OTHER PURPOSE, TO BE MADE BY CREDIT CARD, CHARGE CARD, DEBIT CARD OR OTHER FORM OF ELECTRONIC PAYMENT; TO AUTHORIZE JACKSON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CHARGE PAYING CONSUMERS THE COST OF ANY FEES ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH TRANSACTIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
