REPORT OF CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
MADAM PRESIDENT AND MR. SPEAKER:
We, the undersigned conferees, have had under consideration the amendments to the following entitled BILL:
S. B. No. 2661: Budget Contingency Fund; provide for transfer and deposit of certain funds into.
We, therefore, respectfully submit the following report and recommendation:
1. That the House recede from its Amendment No. 1.
2. That the Senate and House adopt the following amendment:
Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
SECTION 1. The State Treasurer shall transfer to the Budget Contingency Fund created in Section 27-103-301, Mississippi Code of 1972, out of the following enumerated funds, the amount listed below for each fund throughout the period beginning July 1, 2004, and ending June 30, 2005:
Agency/Fund Fund No. Amount
Criminal Justice Fund 3086 $300,000.00
Unclaimed Property Fund 3178 500,000.00
Total $800,000.00
Upon notification from the State Treasurer, the agency shall make such transfer from its special funds as required by the State Treasurer.
SECTION 2. In addition to the amounts transferred to the Budget Contingency Fund under the provisions of this act, the Budget Contingency Fund is hereby authorized to receive any additional funds that may become available to the fund from any source during the period beginning upon passage of this act and through June 30, 2005.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2004, and shall stand repealed from and after June 30, 2004.
Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
AN ACT TO DIRECT THE STATE TREASURER TO TRANSFER TO THE BUDGET CONTINGENCY FUND CERTAIN SPECIAL FUNDS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
