AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO VICTOR B. ANDREWS A/K/A VICTOR B. ANDREWS III OF HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to  Victor B. Andrews, also known as Victor B. Andrews III, of Hinds County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his convictions in 1995 in Hinds County, Mississippi of the crimes of two (2) counts of burglary and one (1) count of shoplifting, and who was sentenced to serve two (2) terms for the crime of burglary, six (6) and ten (10) years respectively, and five (5) years for the crime of shoplifting in the custody of the Department of Corrections.  He was released on parole on June 12, 1998, to Louisiana, and his tentative discharge date was June 6, 2002.  Since that time he has conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
