A RESOLUTION COMMENDING FORMER REPRESENTATIVE LOYD BENFORD (ROB) ROBERSON II FOR HAVING PASSED AND GAINED ADMITTANCE TO THE MISSISSIPPI BAR.
WHEREAS, Loyd Benford (Rob) Roberson II, former representative of House District 37, serving four years, was sworn into the Mississippi Bar Association on May 4, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Representative Roberson, a native of Starkville, graduated from Starkville High School and Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and received his juris doctorate degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 2003; and
WHEREAS, upon being sworn in, Representative Roberson vowed to promote excellence in our system of justice, ensure the highest standards of professional competence and ethical conduct, increase the public's understanding and appreciation of our system of justice and the role of the legal profession, promote the availability and delivery of legal services and provide programs and services to assist members in providing high quality legal services in a professional and cost effective manner; and
WHEREAS, Representative Roberson, while a member of the House of Representatives, served on the Ethics; Judiciary B; Juvenile Justice; Public Buildings, Grounds and Lands; and Universities and Colleges Committees; and
WHEREAS, Representative Roberson has been lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his wife, the former Karen Shurden, and their children, Kelly, Marley and Jackson Tanner; and
WHEREAS, Representative Roberson's congenial nature and willingness to serve positively influenced all those who had the pleasure of working with such a highly respected individual, who will take this same dedication and compassion for the people of the State of Mississippi into his practice of law:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Representative Loyd Benford (Rob) Roberson II for having passed and gained admittance to the Mississippi Bar and extend our heartiest wishes for continued success in all his future political and professional endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Loyd Benford (Rob) Roberson II and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
