A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF JAMES CLIFTON EUBANKS AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.
WHEREAS, James Clifton Eubanks, born July 19, 1945, departed this earthly life on June 7, 2003, causing great sorrow and loss to his family and friends; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of William Carey College, Mr. Eubanks was a diligent and dedicated employee with the Mississippi Power Company for 35 years; and
WHEREAS, a retired Colonel from the Mississippi Army National Guard after 27 years, Mr. Eubanks was a faithful member in good standing of the Oak Grove Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, he was very active in civic and community organizations, having membership and holding offices in various facets of the community, including: Meridian Lions Club, Mississippi Professional Arborist Association, Mississippi Urban Forestry Association, South Central Community Forestry Council, Meridian Tree Commission, Meridian Keep America Beautiful Council, Utility Arborist Association, Boy Scouts of America - Risk Management Committee for Choctaw Area Council, Board of Directors for Dalewood Property Owners Association, in addition, an affiliate of numerous fishing and hunting organizations and a certified arborist; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to pay special tribute to such an outstanding individual as Mr. Eubanks, whose service to the State of Mississippi, the citizens of Lauderdale County and the City of Meridian will forever be etched in the hearts and memories of those whose lives he touched:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life and accomplishments of Mr. James Clifton Eubanks and express deepest sympathy to his family and friends upon his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the surviving family members of Mr. Eubanks and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
