House Concurrent Resolution 13

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE GREENE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL WILDCATS BASEBALL TEAM ON WINNING THE 2003 STATE CLASS 3-A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Greene County High School Wildcats Baseball Team completed the 2003 season with an overall record of 32 wins and only six losses; and

WHEREAS, the Wildcats won the South State Championship and captured the State Class 3-A Championship; and

WHEREAS, several of the players for the Greene County High School Wildcats Baseball Team were named to the All-State Team including: Elliot Burch, Antonio Anderson, Daulton Bradley, Tommy Lott and Taylor Kimble; and

WHEREAS, in addition, Elliot Burch, Dustin Eubanks and Antonio Anderson were selected to play in the All-Star game; and

WHEREAS, the Wildcats were superbly coached and inspired this season by Head Coach Scott Bray and Assistant Coaches Dale Kimble, Dale Box, Andy Hollinghead and Shaun Walley, who have broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, in addition, Head Coach Scott Bray was named Coach of the Year by The Clarion-Ledger and The Mississippi Press; and

WHEREAS, the Wildcats have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coaches and bring honor to Greene County High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of our great state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Greene County High School Wildcats Baseball Team, Head Coach Scott Bray and Assistant Coaches Dale Kimble, Dale Box, Andy Hollinghead and Shaun Walley for their outstanding 2003 baseball season and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Greene County High School, Head Coach Scott Bray and Assistant Coaches Dale Kimble, Dale Box, Andy Hollinghead, Shaun Walley and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
