AN ACT TO CREATE THE CRIME OF RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) A person is guilty of reckless endangerment if he or she recklessly engages in conduct which places another person in danger of death or serious bodily injury.
(2) A person who violates this section shall be guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment in the custody of the Department of Corrections for not less than one (1) year nor more than fifteen (15) years or a fine of not more than Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), or both.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2004.
