AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 43-11-17, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO INSPECT ALL LICENSED SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES AT LEAST ONE TIME DURING EACH CALENDAR YEAR; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 43-11-17, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
43-11-17. The licensing agency shall make or cause to be made such inspections and investigations as it deems necessary. However, the licensing agency shall inspect all licensed skilled nursing facilities at least one time during each calendar year.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2004.
