AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 63-21-3, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE TAX COMMISSION SHALL EMPLOY TWO PERSONS TO INVESTIGATE FRAUD COMMITTED IN VIOLATION OF THE LAWS PERTAINING TO THE REGISTRATION AND TITLING OF VEHICLES AND MANUFACTURED HOUSING; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 63-21-3, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
63-21-3. The terms and provisions of this chapter shall be administered by the State Tax Commission. The State Tax Commission shall have charge of all the affairs of administering the laws of the state relative to vehicle registration and titling and manufactured housing titling as hereinafter provided, shall employ two (2) persons to assist the commission in the investigation of fraud in the registration and titling of vehicles and manufactured housing, and may employ such other administrative and clerical assistance, material and equipment as may be necessary to enable it to speedily, completely and efficiently perform the duties as outlined in this chapter.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2004.
