AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI, TO EXEMPT CERTAIN HOUSEHOLDS FROM THE PAYMENT OF SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL FEES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Jackson, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to exempt from the payment of solid waste collection and disposal fees:
(a) Households whose principal income producer is sixty-five (65) years of age or older and the total annual gross income of the household is Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) or less; and
(b) Households whose principal income producer is totally disabled.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
