A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ED HEIDORN FOR HIS MANY OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CITY OF CHARLESTON AND TALLAHATCHIE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.
WHEREAS, Mr. Ed Heidorn has given much time, money and tireless efforts to many professional and community organizations in the Charleston area; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Mr. Heidorn, Charleston Industries, Incorporated, has remained a major employer in Tallahatchie County and has an impeccable reputation for the quality of its products and fairness to many customers; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Heidorn has been an instrumental part of industrial and business development in Tallahatchie County; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his professional contributions, Mr. Heidorn loved providing support for Charleston and Tallahatchie County through many activities such as distributing toys to needy children at Christmas, raising money for charitable work and recognizing and supporting law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Heidorn has generously given his time and abilities to several churches, civic groups, schools and libraries; and
WHEREAS, as an active member of numerous civic and charitable organizations, Mr. Heidorn was a pillar of the Charleston Rotary Club; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Heidorn is the type of man who has put his Christian background and values into practice for the betterment of all people; and
WHEREAS, the City of Charleston has proclaimed that February 20, 2003, be designated as "Ed Heidorn Day" in honor of his many contributions and unselfish service to the people of Charleston; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend outstanding servants such as Mr. Heidorn, who has dedicated his life to improving the quality of life of those in his community:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Mr. Ed Heidorn and express our deepest appreciation for his outstanding contributions to Charleston, Tallahatchie County and the State of Mississippi.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Ed Heidorn and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
