A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CAROLYN MCGEHEE FOR HER SELECTION AS MISSISSIPPI'S 2002 NATIONAL DISTINGUISHED PRINCIPAL.
WHEREAS, Carolyn McGehee was nominated by fellow principals throughout the state for Mississippi's 2002 National Distinguished Principal award; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn McGehee was awarded Mississippi's 2002 National Distinguished Principal award by the National Association of Elementary School Principals; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn McGehee, currently principal at Pontotoc Elementary School, has led ten teachers under her direction at Pontotoc Elementary School to become National Board Certified educators; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn McGehee has served in several offices for the Mississippi Association of School Administrators, is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, and serves on the Millsaps College Principals' Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn McGehee graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn McGehee, a dedicated educator, has made outstanding contributions to the field of education in the State of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi recognizes and pays special tribute to a remarkable educator, Carolyn McGehee, who continues to provide outstanding educational leadership to the youth of our state in the public schools of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Carolyn McGehee for her selection as Mississippi's 2002 National Distinguished Principal and for her exceptional contributions to the field of education in the State of Mississippi and extend to her our best wishes for success in all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Carolyn McGehee, Pontotoc Elementary School and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
