AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF MAGEE, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SIMPSON COUNTY FOR THE PURCHASE AND RENOVATION OF THE BUILDING AND REAL ESTATE FORMERLY OWNED BY WAL-MART STORES IN  THE CITY OF MAGEE; TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF MAGEE TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SIMPSON COUNTY OR TO COPIAH-LINCOLN COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF COPIAH-LINCOLN COMMUNITY COLLEGE FACILITIES IN SIMPSON COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The governing authorities of the City of Magee, Mississippi, in their discretion, may contribute to the Board of Supervisors of Simpson County, Mississippi, out of any available funds, an amount not to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00) in fiscal year 2004, to be used by the county (a) for the purchase, renovation, furnishing and equipping of the building and real estate formerly owned by Wal-Mart Stores in the City of Magee, or (b) if the building and real estate formerly owned by Wal-Mart Stores in the City of Magee is no longer available for purchase by the county, for the purchase of other real estate in the county and the construction, furnishing and equipping of a building on the property, as provided in House Bill No. 1644, 2003 Regular Session.

     (2)  The governing authorities of the City of Magee, Mississippi, in their discretion, may contribute funds to the Board of Supervisors of Simpson County, Mississippi, or to Copiah-Lincoln Community College, or to both, out of any available funds, for the maintenance and operation of the Copiah-Lincoln Community College facilities in Simpson County.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
