AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 3-3-16, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REESTABLISH AND DESCRIBE AS THE OFFICIAL FLAG OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI THAT FLAG WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED AS THE STATE FLAG BY THE STATE CONVENTION ON JANUARY 26, 1861; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 3-3-16, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
3-3-16. The * * * flag of the State of Mississippi, as established by the people of Mississippi in convention assembled on January 26, 1861, is reestablished as the official flag of the State of Mississippi, and it shall have the following design: the ground of the flag to be white with a magnolia tree in the center; with ground of the union (canton) to be blue with a white star in the center; with the whole width and whole length of the flag finished with a red border and having a red fringe on the edge of the right vertical side of the red border thereon.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
