AMENDMENT No. 9 PROPOSED TO

                             Senate Bill NO. 2011

                             By Senator(s) Farris

     AMEND by inserting after line 332 the following paragraph (g):

          (g)  Fifty percent (50%) of any award for punitive damages in civil actions shall be payable to the state and fifty percent (50%) to the individual plaintiff or plaintiffs who bring the suit.  The state's portion of the damage award shall be deposited by the clerk of the court into the State General Fund.
