TO THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE:

GOVERNOR’S VETO MESSAGE FOR SENATE BILL 2622

I am returning Senate Bill Number 2622: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 37-29-1, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DELETE CERTAIN MINIMUM STANDARDIZED TEST REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY AND JUNIOR COLLEGE DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES without my approval, and assign the following reasons for my veto.

Senate Bill 2622 is identical to and duplicates House Bill 1539 which has already been signed into law. This veto is not intended to and does not affect the status of House Bill 1539.

I urge the members to sustain the veto and reject Senate Bill No. 2622
