AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             Senate Bill NO. 2523

                             By Senator(s) Walls

     AMEND by inserting after line 73 the following, and renumber subsequent sections:

     SECTION *.  (1)  For the purposes of this section, a "gun show" is an event or function, whether sponsored by any individual or corporation or any national, state or local organization, that is devoted to the sale of firearms in the community.

     (2)  It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of eighteen (18) to attend any gun show without a parent or legal guardian or other responsible adult who has temporary charge of a child by the parent or guardian's permission such as, but not by way of limitation, a scout leader or coach.

     (3)  Violation of this section shall constitute a misdemeanor for any adult who permits such violation, and an act of delinquency for any child over the age of thirteen (13) who is found to be in attendance at a gun show.

     FURTHER AMEND the title on line 5 by inserting the following after the semicolon:

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18 FROM ATTENDING GUN SHOWS WITHOUT PERMISSION OF A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN;
