AMENDMENT No. 2 TO AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             House Bill NO. 1148

                             By Senator(s) Dawkins, Minor

     AMEND line 814 by inserting the following after the comma:

"who served in the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service prior to 1972".

     FURTHER, amend line 817 by inserting a comma after the word "Forces" and by inserting the following thereafter:

"in the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service prior to 1972".

     FURTHER, amend line 29 of the title by inserting the following after the semicolon:

TO PROVIDE THAT MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM WHO SERVED IN THE COMMISSIONED CORPS OF THE UNITED STATES PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE PRIOR TO 1972 SHALL BE ENTITLED TO A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF CREDITABLE SERVICE FOR SUCH SERVICE;
