AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             House Bill NO. 485

                             By Senator(s) Committee

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     SECTION 1.  Section 20, Chapter 575, Laws of 1998, as amended by Section 2, Chapter 375, Laws of 1999, as amended by Section 2, Chapter 332, Laws of 2000, as amended by Section 2, Chapter 375, Laws of 2001, which provides an automatic repealer for the appointment of counsel for indigents, is repealed.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 20, CHAPTER 575, LAWS OF 1998, AS AMENDED BY SECTION 2, CHAPTER 375, LAWS OF 1999, AS AMENDED BY SECTION 2, CHAPTER 332, LAWS OF 2000, AS AMENDED BY SECTION 2, CHAPTER 375, LAWS OF 2001, TO REPEAL THE REPEALER ON THE APPOINTMENT OF COUNSEL FOR INDIGENTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
