AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

                             House Bill NO. 1319

                             By Representative(s) Committee

     AMEND by inserting the following language after line 26:      "Any person who applies to take the examination for a chiropractic license who is not a citizen of the United States must include with the application to the board a signed affidavit stating that the person intends to meet the qualifications and apply for United States citizenship at the earliest date that he or she becomes eligible for citizenship."

     AMEND FURTHER by inserting the following language after line 50:

     "Any person who applies for a chiropractic license by reciprocity who is not a citizen of the United States must include with the application to the board a signed affidavit stating that the person intends to meet the qualifications and apply for United States citizenship at the earliest date that he or she becomes eligible for citizenship."

     AMEND FURTHER the title by inserting the following after the semicolon on line 3:  "TO REQUIRE ANY APPLICANT FOR A CHIROPRACTIC LICENSE WHO IS NOT A UNITED STATES CITIZEN TO SIGN AN AFFIDAVIT STATING THE PERSON'S INTENTION TO APPLY FOR CITIZENSHIP AT THE EARLIEST DATE THAT HE OR SHE BECOMES ELIGIBLE;"
