AMENDMENT No. 2 PROPOSED TO

                             House Bill NO. 465

                             By Representative(s) Scott(80)

     AMEND by inserting the following new section after line 29 and by renumbering all succeeding sections accordingly:

     "SECTION 2.  The school board of each school district shall require each teacher employed by the district to develop and incorporate into the curriculum being taught by that teacher daily and weekly homework assignments.  The daily homework assignments must include both written and reading assignments.  As part of the weekly assignments, students must be required to complete vocabulary and spelling homework lessons."

     AMEND FURTHER the title by inserting the following after the semicolon on line 5:

"TO REQUIRE TEACHERS TO INCORPORATE INTO THEIR CURRICULUM DAILY AND WEEKLY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS;"
