AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISOR OF HINDS COUNTY TO ELECT FOR HINDS COUNTY TO BECOME A SELF-INSURER UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE WORKERS' COMPENSATION LAW; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Hinds County, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to elect for Hinds County to become a self-insurer under the provisions of the Workers' Compensation Law by notifying the Workers' Compensation Commission of its intention of becoming such an insurer. The cost of being such a self-insurer may be provided from any funds available to Hinds County.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
