AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS TO THE HINDS COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CONSTRUCT THE BRYAM-CLINTON/NORRELL ROAD CORRIDOR, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Transportation for the purpose of providing funds to the Hinds County Board of Supervisors for the Byram-Clinton/Norrell Road Corridor Project, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003   $4,500,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  The money appropriated herein is provided for the purpose of providing state funding assistance to the Hinds County Board of Supervisors to construct a road in Hinds County, known as the Byram-Clinton/Norrell Road Corridor Project, beginning at the intersection of Siwell Road and Davis Road and extending northwesterly to the proposed Norrell Road and Lancaster Road intersection.

     SECTION 3.  The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2002.
