Senate Bill 2711

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 31-3-19, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REMOVE THE PROVISION WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE REFUND OF THE SPECIAL PRIVILEGE TAX WHEN A CERTIFICATE OF RESPONSIBILITY IS NOT GRANTED BY THE STATE BOARD OF CONTRACTORS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 31-3-19, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

31-3-19. All applications for the original issuance of a certificate of responsibility or for any renewal thereof shall be made on a form prescribed by the board, accompanied by the special privilege tax * * *.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2002.
