House Resolution 67

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE WILLIAM SULLIVAN HIGH SCHOOL YELLOW JACKETS TRACK TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2001 SEASON.

     WHEREAS, the William Sullivan High School Track Team finished the 2001 season with outstanding performances, winning the Carthage Invitational Track Meet, the Yellow Jacket Relays, runners-up in the Division 5-2A Tournament and finishing in fourth place in the state; and

     WHEREAS, the William Sullivan High School Yellow Jackets have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Carl Winters and Assistant Coaches Argie Logan, Kenyon Ross and Tim McCormick, who have broadened the team's knowledge of the sport and refined their skills in execution; and

     WHEREAS, the Yellow Jackets have developed a winning attitude and cooperative spirit, and their activities and attitude reflect great honor and pride on William Sullivan High School; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend and congratulate the William Sullivan High School Yellow Jackets Track Team and their coaches, Head Coach Carl Winters and Assistant Coaches Argie Logan, Kenyon Ross and Tim McCormick, for their phenomenal 2001 season and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to William Sullivan High School, Head Coach Carl Winters and Assistant Coaches Argie Logan, Kenyon Ross and Tim McCormick and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
