House Resolution 38

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ADAMS COUNTY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL LADY REBELS SOFTBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI PRIVATE SCHOOL CLASS 3A AND 4A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels Softball Team finished the 2001 season with a remarkable record of 20 wins and only 5 losses; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Rebels won the Mississippi Private School Association Class 3A and 4A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, many members of the team have received much recognition for their hard work, dedication and superior play this season, including the selection of Holli Hankins, Riana Flynn, Alesia Brown, Charmaine Reagan and April Boyd for the All-Metro Team; and

Whereas, the Rebels have been superbly coached and inspired this season by Head Coach Bruce Pickle and Assistant Coach Danny Hankins, who have broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, Coach Bruce Pickle has brought additional honor to himself and Adams County Christian School by being named the Mississippi Private School Association Coach of the Year; and

WHEREAS, the Rebels have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coaches and bring honor to Adams County Christian School; and

WHEREAS, it is a policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend and congratulate the Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels Softball Team and their coaches, Head Coach Bruce Pickle and Assistant Coach Danny Hankins, for their outstanding 2001 season, for winning the Class 3A and 4A Mississippi Private School State Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Adams County Christian School, Head Coach Bruce Pickle and Assistant Coach Danny Hankins and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
