SECTION *. Section 5-3-95, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

5-3-95. The members of the committee shall be entitled to receive per diem compensation for each day engaged in the discharge of official duties at the same rate as compensated during a special session of the Legislature. In addition, the members shall be entitled to receive an expense allowance per day equal to the maximum, daily expense rate allowable to employees of the federal government for travel in the high rate geographical area of Jackson, Mississippi, as may be established by federal regulations, together with an additional mileage allowance as provided by Section 25-3-41. * * *

TO AMEND SECTION 5-3-95, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REMOVE THE PROVISION THAT PROHIBITS MEMBERS OF THE STANDING JOINT LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON REAPPORTIONMENT FROM BEING PAID PER DIEM COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES FOR MORE THAN 30 CALENDAR DAYS AND TO REVISE THE COMPENSATION FOR ATTENDING MEETINGS OF SUCH COMMITTEE;
