A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MISSISSIPPI STATE LADY BULLDOG, LATOYA THOMAS FOR GARNERING ALL-AMERICAN BASKETBALL HONORS.

WHEREAS, LaToya Thomas was named First-Team All-American by The Women's Basketball Journal; and

WHEREAS, LaToya Thomas was named to the Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference First-Team for the second season; and

WHEREAS, LaToya Thomas was named to the coaches All-Southeastern Conference Team; and

WHEREAS, LaToya Thomas scored a SEC Tournament record of 44 points against Arkansas and was selected to the SEC All-Tournament Team; and

WHEREAS, LaToya Thomas has garnered All-Tournament honors in every tournament that Mississippi State has played in over the last two seasons; and

WHEREAS, LaToya Thomas has led the Lady Bulldogs and the SEC in scoring for the second straight year:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend LaToya Thomas for garnering All-American honors and wish her continued success in her athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to LaToya Thomas.
