AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 51 IN LINCOLN COUNTY AS THE "JEFFERSON DAVIS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) That portion of U.S. Highway 51 in Lincoln County, Mississippi, beginning at Jackson Street and extending to U.S. Highway 84 shall be known and designated as the "Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway."
(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching such highway.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2001.
