AN ACT TO CREATE A NEW CODE SECTION TO BE CODIFIED AS SECTION 29-15-14, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE FOR THE PRESERVATION OF NATURAL AND MAN-MADE SAND BEACHES ON THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 29-15-14, Mississippi Code of 1972:
29-15-14. The natural and man-made sand beaches on the Mississippi Gulf Coast are a valuable and integral part of the public trust tidelands and shall be preserved and maintained as public sand beaches.
The preservation of continuous, uninterrupted linear stretches of public sand beach serves a higher public purpose for public use, access, recreation, view and enhancement of the quality of life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
