A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE POPLARVILLE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT.

WHEREAS, the Poplarville High School Girls Basketball Team has been recognized by Dr. Robert Brumfield, the Principal of Poplarville High School, for their outstanding scholastic achievement; and

WHEREAS, the Poplarville Girls Basketball Team has worked hard throughout the school year to maintain a high grade point average while also participating in extracurricular activities; and

WHEREAS, the Poplarville Girls Basketball Team has achieved an outstanding grade point average of 3.473; and

WHEREAS, members of the Poplarville Girls Basketball Team include Emily Carver, Kira Tillman, Nikki Breland, Britney Carter, Diana Wallace, Danica Wallace, Nikki Smith, Monique Bonner, Cicely Tatum and Brittny Smith; and

WHEREAS, the scholastic achievement by these basketball team members has brought great honor and pride to Coach Annette Smith, their teachers and Poplarville High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of this state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the Poplarville High School Girls Basketball Team for their outstanding scholastic achievement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Poplarville High School, Coach Annette Smith and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
