House Concurrent Resolution 120
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. LAURA R. BRAGG UPON BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE COMMUNITY CAMPUS OF THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, Ms. Laura R. Bragg, a resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, has been selected as Instructor of the Year at the Community Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of her distinguished service to the college; and
WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from the nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators, on the basis of their teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Bragg, an Adult Basic Skills/General Education Diploma instructor, has been employed at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past nine years; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Bragg received an associate's degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and a bachelor's degree and master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, throughout her career, Ms. Bragg has served as Workforce Specialist, Research Consultant, Elementary School Teacher and Chairperson and Secretary for the Adult Literacy Partners in Service; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend outstanding teachers such as Ms. Bragg, who has dedicated her career to teaching the young people of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Laura R. Bragg upon being selected as Instructor of the Year at the Community Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to her our heartiest wishes of success in all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Laura R. Bragg and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
